Senior Business Analyst

Sr. BUSINESS ANALYST-Woodland Hills, CA.

 

DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. This position report to Director of Software Engineering. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting other Business Analyst and project managers on larger more complex projects related to operational business functions that affect team members and providers at the market level. You will interview stakeholders, write agile stories, guide the development team on-shore and off-shore and work with other business analysts. This is full time, non-exempt position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and represent client policy enthusiastically
  • Represent client professionally and ethically to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work effectively with senior management
  • Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements
  • Provide project level analysis – producing required project analysis documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, agile stories and use cases)
  • Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement and implementations
  • Coordinate QA and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others; identifying and initiating projects; managing resources; driving the resolution of issues; and holding self and team accountable for results

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in related technical field
  • Minimum 6+ years of business systems analysis experience working on Agile software development efforts
  • Experience in Jira, Confluence and Visio
  • A good understanding of SDLC process
  • Schedule and facilitate Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions
  • Translate high level requirements into User Stories/Detailed Requirements
  • Work as a liaison between business and delivery teams in all phases of development from product definition to deployment
  • Perform feasibility analysis, scope projects, prioritize deliverables, recommend alternative solutions and project strategies, and engage in negotiations
  • Ability to demonstrate Process Flow Diagrams using UML concepts
  • Ability to multi task and handle multiple projects at anytime
  • Willingness to review and understand projects handled by various project teams
  • Create a road map to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Willingness to work with Onsite and Offshore development teams
  • Understand industry trends and best practices in the business that can be applied to system design and process improvement.
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, and meeting all project deliverables as planned
  • Demonstrate good communication and relationship skills with Internal IT, Business Teams and External Vendors
  • Provide support to QA Team and Business Users during QA and UAT phase of the projects
  • Ability to estimate projects and timelines
  • Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
  • Experience in ERP development and implementation is a plus.
  • Must have strong project management, strong relationship building skills & communication skills
  • Data analysis proficiency is a plus.
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Good decision making and problem solving ability
  • Works well in teams and has the ability to work independently with little or no supervision

Senior Project Manager

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER-WOODLAND HILLS, CA.

 

DESCRIPTION

Responsible for managing technical projects moving through the software development life cycle (SDLC) from initial requirements through to general release. This includes direct management of all tasks and people working to deliver the agreed-upon scope while maintaining quality and budget goals. This position reports to the Director of Software Engineering. The Senior Project Manager will evangelize project management processes, best practices and tools and function as a gatekeeper responsible for leading cross-functional technical teams both on-shore and off-shore for technical projects of varying size, complexity and urgency.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives projects through the requirements, design, development, testing and release phases of the project lifecycle, closely coordinating with all appropriate technical, business and operational stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with business and technical leads to understand all aspects of product requirements.
  • Validates the estimates provided by Technology resources.
  • Develops, manages and maintains detailed project schedules, working closely with the involved departments; ensures that all deliverables are accounted for and completed on time.
  • Coordinates plans for testing and release, including QA, UAT and regression testing and tracks the project through the QA cycle to ensure adherence to plans.
  • Communicates effectively with various departments and staff at all levels to keep the company apprised of project status, ensuring cohesiveness, clarity and efficiency.
  • Identifies and addresses project interdependencies, risks and issues; resolves conflicts and plans optimal delivery sequences for projects.
  • Manages multiple, often large, projects of different priorities that may have business dependencies.
  • Act as Scrum Master for one or more Engineering teams, while also helping prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders
  • Lead global and local Engineering teams and foster an environment of continuous improvement
  • Identifies opportunities for and contributes to project management process improvements.
  • Evangelizes PMO best practices to help streamline Technology’s processes.
  • Implement and represent client policy enthusiastically
  • Represent client  professionally and ethically to internal and external stakeholders

 

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Computer Science or related Engineering field preferred
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience
  • PMP certification is required
  • Proven record of working with business and Engineering leadership to improve delivery
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with off-shore team is required
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams with a proven track record of delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive improvements
  • Expert level knowledge of software project management methodologies and tracking/reporting tools (eg. JIRA, Greenhopper, MS-Project, Smartsheet)
  • Proficiency in AGILE/SCRUM methodologies.

Project Manager/Business Systems Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a tremendous opportunity for someone looking to leverage their project management accumen along with their honed requirements gathering and business analyst skills.  This role will involve project planning, execution, and implementation of small to medium-sized technology-enabled solutions to internal business units. The Project Manager/Business Systems Analyst (PM/BSA) will lead the formulation of and definition of systems scope based on both business user needs and an understanding of the business systems and industry as it relates to those projects.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

  • Provide project leadership using the system development life cycle for small to medium-sized projects, especially cross-departmental projects, including meeting facilitation.
  • Perform QA testing, including planning and executing unit, integration, and acceptance testing, in support of timely, quality project implementation
  • Develop Functional and Design Specifications, including use cases, data flows in support of timely, quality project implementation.
  • Perform analysis in support of timely, quality project implementation.
  • Provide end-user training for implemented systems/processes along with accompanying training manuals or user guides.
  • Partner with senior PM/Business Systems Analyst on more complex projects.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • A degree from a four-year college (e. g., BS) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst and/or an IT Project Manager in a healthcare environment.
    • Experience using MicroStrategy BI tool preferred.
  • Prior experience at a healthcare organization, particularly at a managed health plan.
  • Prior experience in IT infrastructure and security.
  • Excellent communication skills and a high degree of adaptability.
  • A passion to work in a dynamic, highly collaborative environment.
